Easiest Crochet Scrunchie Pattern
Hey awesome makers, trust ya'll are doing great, I recently launched an all-inclusive super easy crochet scrunchie kit on my shop and thought of sharing the pattern with all of you.
Before we go to the written pattern instructions, I wanted to let you know that I have a video tutorial on how to use this kit and make a crochet scrunchie - scroll to the very end of this post to access the video tutorial and use the video along with the written instructions given below to make your very own handmade scrunchie and have fun flaunting it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Materials you would need to make the scrunchie (all of it is included in my all-inclusive-kit)
Stitches Used :
ch - chain stitch. (yarn over | pull through)
sc - single crochet. (insert your hook | pull up a loop | yarn over | pull through both loops on the hook)
dc - double crochet (yarn over | insert your hook | pull up a loop | yarn over | pull through first two loops on your hook | yarn over | pull through next two loops on your hook)
Notes :
→ The pattern is written in US terms.
→ Your scrunchie will be ready in no time and takes only 4 rows.
→ If this is your first crochet project I would recommend going through the video tutorial first because I have explained everything about how to hold the hook and how to slide the yarn and all of the basics.
Okay then, let’s start making this beautiful scrunchies, 😃😃😃
Scrunchie Pattern:
Row 1 : Start with tying one end of the yarn around the elastic band to give you a starting point.
Now insert the hook through the elastic, pull up a loop, and pull through to make a chain stitch.
After this start making single crochet stitches (sc) around the elastic. For row 1 you need a total of 50 sc. You might need to move the stitches a little closer as you get to the end to make room for more stitches.
The idea here is to cover the elastic with single crochet stitches. Don’t sweat it if you don’t get exactly 50 stitches, just make sure to cover the elastic completely.
Row 2 :
Start with chain 3 | put 1 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch as you joined | 2 dc in every stitch around the elastic. Join to the first dc.
Row 3 & 4 :
Repeat Row 2 and keep doing 2dc in every stitch to give you the nice chunky ruffles.
The kit includes enough yarn for you to make 4 rows but if you wish to stop at row 2 or 3 you can do that as well - you can customize your scrunchie as per your liking.
In the end weave-in the ends using the tapestry needle included in the kit and cut out the excess yarn.
Your scrunchie is all ready to use and flaunt! 😍😍😍😍😍
